Play it Forward, A night of games, gaming and good times

The Bayou Country Children’s Museum (BCCM) held a Casino Night fundraiser to help meet the June 2010 groundbreaking goal. On Friday, January 15th, the arena of the Warren J Harang Municipal Auditorium was transformed into a mini Atlantic City, filled with casino gaming tables (sponsored by MidSouth Bank), and even a boardwalk area for video and festival games.

The event also boasted an elaborate silent and live auction which included a signed Drew Brees helmet, jersey and even a pair of Super Bowl tickets, which yielded $7,500. Another highlight of the evening was the Live Purse Auction. Winning bidders of each of the eight designer purses were asked to come on stage and open their purse to see if it contained a pair of diamond fleur de lis earrings, courtesy of Birdsall Jewelry valued at $780. Becky Chaisson, was the lucky winner!

“The event was a huge success for us,” said Christy Naquin, Executive Director.  “Raising $45,000 in one night is always a success, and more importantly, it gets us even closer to our goal of breaking ground in June!”
